KCEA Conference

The following has been sent to HAPF via Ted Clater from KCEA:

Suicide.  Depression.  Despair.  Loneliness.  We are serving the Lord in times when pastors and fellow leaders are increasingly facing counseling situations for which pastors in past decades did not have to prepare.  We are advantaged as we “gear up” for situations that are increasing.

I believe you all know about the Keystone Christian Education Association.  Each September they organize a Christian Education Conference to address professional development.  This year they offer 102 workshops and 3 plenary sessions on September 25 & 26 at DoubleTree Willow Valley, Lancaster.  Yes, many of the topics are focused on tasks and issues directly related to Christian schools.  However, their 102 workshops have many titles with content that can assist you.

I invite you to see the attached listing of KCEA’s Program.

  • Observe that eight titles are highlighted in green.  The one professor is a veteran in Biblical Counseling while the other is a professor of church ministries who is completing a doctorate in that field.  These address topics that are increasingly occurring in our churches.
  • Observe a dozen titles that addresses topics that might be prime candidates for your attendance.
  • Observe dozens of other titles that you can select.
  • KCEA’s program provides time for delegates to attend three plenary sessions and up to 10 workshops.
  • The registration is modest, especially compared to alternatives.  The sessions are in-person, not via Internet, thus encouraging participation.
  • Details about the Conference and workshop titles are available on KCEA’s website.  (www.KCEA.com, go to the bottom of the Home Page).

Registration information is on the KCEA website, but I also give you an alternative.  If you desire, you can contact one of the KCEA affiliating schools, and they can save you a few bucks by including you along with the registration for their staff – thus $40 instead of $48.   For example, Pastor Harris at Hope Baptist, Hanover, will be glad to assist any from our Fellowship.

Summer Update

Pastor Perry Kile is working on a schedule for the upcoming season. He is going to be contacting various churches to see when they might be having meetings. If you already have meetings scheduled and want to email him the information, that would save some time making phone calls.  Please include the dates and the speaker and if you would be interested in hosting a fellowship meeting in conjunction with your special meetings.  His email is bbc.1757.nb@gmail.com.

Our first meeting for the fall will be on Tuesday, August 5, at 10:30 at Bible Baptist Church with evangelist Mike Shrock.

September 7-10th, Armstrong Valley Baptist will be having Bobby Bonner, the former Baltimore Oriole and Missionary to Africa with us to preach. We would love to have anyone who would like to attend. On Sunday our services will be Morning 10:10, evening 6:00 and the following evenings at 7:00 pm. We look forward to having anyone who would like to attend. Thank you!
